Colour problems in Sl 2 - reds are all magenta - raw on aperture

Driving me nuts .... images taken with SL and M10 perfect but any image that has any red is terrible

Do you run the latest version of your editing software? Could be that the SL2 profile is missing?

From the Apple support site:

“In June 2014, Apple announced the discontinuation of development of Aperture. Since that time, Apple has released five major macOS updates. For technical reasons, Aperture will not run in future versions of macOS after macOS Mojave. To continue working with your Aperture photo libraries, you must migrate them to the Photos app included with macOS, or migrate them to another application.“

I actually liked Aperture - I downloaded and bought Lightroom - really don't like the system - had same colour problems - uninstalled that...bought Capture One Pro - like the system and ability to move everything around but has the same colour problems.

Anyway it isnn't really the case to use such an expensive and high-end digital camera with such limited/rubbish softwares IMHO

Actually for me its more about getting the image correct to start with rather than spending time modifying them by software........

If you dislike the color in all the programs, and your monitor is already calibrated, it might make sense for you to try to make a custom profile with something like a Color Checker Passport. It is not that expensive and can be used for any camera. The process is straightforward and will get you to neutral quite quickly.

I've noticed  a definite magenta bias in C1 'generic' DNG as applied to SL2  raw files - easily fixed, but it is there....

C1 uses the stock profile where reds and skin tones are off.  I prefer the SL2 Adobe profiles as a starting point.

I hope capture one will support Leica cameras soon ..... SL2 and Q2 are not supported at the moment...

Same problem with SL2 and Lightroom last version (but need last updates)

Photos in Library are ok , when you move to development red turn into a horrible magenta/pink.

Same subject with SL is ok in Lightroom

Will try after last updates.

It seems it’s very easily fixed in C1 (ver 20) ... I tried last night and got very neutral and beautiful skin tones which I can’t get in LR (older perpetual license version). To me it means spending another A$500 to buy C1 now ...Maybe the right move anyway.

Happens all the time with new camera releases - takes a while for C1 to get around to Leica stuff.

Anyway there are many ways to fix the issue with a couple of seconds  of PP in LR or C1...or anything else really.

Have a look at subscription instead - works out the sameish...

I have looked: A$33 / month – not cheap.

Don’t know which plan you’re pricing, but the basic Photography plan, which includes LR and Photoshop, is $9.99 US monthly.  I use LR Classic, which has the same controls and interface as the standalone version, but with more features and continuing updates. I don’t use or pay for cloud storage. But I don’t know about Australian costs.
