My goodness!  The APO Summicron SL 50mm is a really phenomenal lens.  Here is a shot from the Oakland Rose Garden this afternoon.  Straight out of camera, the sense of detail it conveys is phenomenal.  OK, it’s not quite straight out of camera... I slightly lowered the default sharpening, fixed the perspective, and reduced the texture and clarity a bit to make it feel just a bit more ethereal. It actually had a touch too much microcontrast out of camera—the pop was actually distracting!

With Italy, the Bay area, and Israel locked down now, it seems landscape photography will have to wait for the situation to stabilize.  So, @Jared, our concrete garden turtle, Sheldon,

sends his best regards to your cast iron garden pig.    I suspect we will see more of him or her.

BTW, I see that Leica has sent all of its marketing and repair reps home for their safety.  Has there been any statement about whether development and manufacturing are continuing and at what level?

Here's another from the Battle Road trail (taken last summer).  I think it is the Job Brooks house:

Perhaps a little more subtle transition to the OOF areas?  Really nice composition, though.  I like it.

i have tried to call the fly for  a second pic, but for some reason the fly did not answer and what is worse - even the the fly´s posing during the shooting needs an improvement...🙃

I suspect the fly is just practicing good social distancing.  :)

Honestly, I had thought because the transition from in focus to out of focus was quite abrupt that it was something you had done or enhanced in software, and that therefore you could tweak it or lessen the effect.  If that’s straight out of camera, then nothing you can do.  Nice capture!

There was a request for raindrops on the vegetation recently.  Well, it has rained here every day of the past week, so I can oblige:

SL-35

Interestingly, as I was laying on the ground to get this shot, a police office drove up as he explained that he thought I was lying there dead in a heap. Covid overload not doubt.
