Wow, love the free form T. We have a guy joining us for the Train Art - Abstract Movement "blur" shots with his 4x5 camera tomorrow. It will be great to see what he can do in the dark at 2 seconds. You would be quite welcome to come along too T.😃 These are very good in my opinion and would look great printed on metal with poly vinyl cover. Not that I am fan of gloss but the colours go well with contrasty medium. I am getting a few test printed next week, I think as images they have potential although wont be winning any documentary awards.

Wonderful shot, lighting and pose is fantastic. Easily my favorite portrait I’ve seen you post.

Cheers for that Geoff! Friday night bday party for a model in a rooftop club, it was really dark so thankfully I bought along the Neo. This was in the disco ball bathroom - all mirrored & a disco ball hanging from the ceiling. Hard to take a bad picture when you combine models and disco balls! 😂

Thanks so much Ken!!! I was quite surprised how much taking these in the rain added to the photographs, when the streets are wet, it just picks up a lot of extra light and it makes the picture more interesting. I was definitely getting some odd looks from people, jumping up and down while holding a camera out in front of me in the rain - anything for a good shot 😂

Most definitely wouldn’t want to try this with a 4 x 5 camera though!

Are you doing your train shots at night or daytime? Looking forward to seeing your pictures, please make sure to post some here.

Interesting lighting and colour work on the above shots T. We shoot the trains pre dawn around 5 am as it needs to be dark. We know one country passenger train that goes through about that time with its interior lights on. Getting up early is hard for an old bloke and we need to do this multiple times as someday we only get one or two shots. We can be lucky and another train comes by. The shots shooting towards sunrise are limited to about 30 minutes predawn and the light becomes too strong. So we might pull out the ND filters tomorrow. There are floods out on the Nullarbor right now and freight trains cannot get through the trans Australian line. Pre dawn is good because it gives a bit of colour in the sky and allows for 2 second exposures. It's very random not only with the trains but the sun comes up earlier every week. We will explore other train lines at different times as we go. Better get some sleep today, the brain is like mush. 😃
