Nice!  I'm also having far greater success with birds in flight with manual focusing rather than AF.

Here's a manual focus example taken last year in the Okavango Delta in Botswana   -SL2 & Carl Zeiss 300mm f2.8 APO-Tessar & Novoflex C/Y-L adapter.
