Great images from the boardwalk Trickness, The almost copper hues on the man's face are outstanding. The colour grading is superb however if it wasn't colour grading its more than superb. Makes me want to get the 50 Lux

Cheers Ken, many thanks for the kind words. The light was really unusual on this one; his back was to the beach, and the sun was going down, so it was dark blue, with an orange barrier behind him (which shooting wide open, the Lux blew out and turned into just a splash of color). He was facing the boardwalk amusements, so there were multi colored lights from the rides and signs. It was hard to meter correctly so I was quite happy to have the EVF of the SL2 to get an idea of how to do so - I underexposed this image by probably 1 1/2 stops and raised it in post. I did do some color grading, but his skin tones lit by those carnival lights were already quite rich.

I actually really like shooting in challenging lighting situations, it forces me to be creative and get shots that I otherwise wouldn't have taken.

Lastly, the 50M Lux is such a good deal used right now since the close focus version came out, it's an absolute must buy in my opinion. Such a characterful lens.

Great statement T, my sentiments exactly. I hope you have mad a mental note of the very spot those amusement lights had the effect you have captured. It's a shame one cannot copyright a location for photographic purposes. All the best
