Do you have any similar close pictures with the Summicron 90SL and the VE 24-90 at 90mm, shot at f4 or close to it?

Thank you - unfortunately I do not have a comparable shoot with the 24-90 - the one posted above (1) is at 90mm, but with aperture closed to f7.1 - since I own the 50 and 90 Summicron I do use those two for open aperture/bokeh type shoots. For this kind of photography, they will always by nature outperform the Vario 24-90, which has its own advantages.

Poppies (3) - VE 90-280mm (other than the wide angle vario the "easiest" lens to shoot the poppies)

Strange colors, that’s not how poppies look in my experience. Maybe this is artistic freedom, but I find it very artificial. (And unnecessary).  Just to make it clear, not a bad picture, just a strange color palette.

Fully appreciate your comment and do want to discuss your perception - however, just fyi - the colors are those of a late sunny evening and they have not been tuned in post processing (HSL sliders and color grading untouched, "normal" gradation curve). Added a vignette, but this does not impact colors.

Very nice.  Good reward for carrying that heavy lens 🙂
