The moon from my balcony. With SL2 in APS-C mode- lens Sigma 100 - 400 at 400mm plus 2ply extender. So total focal length was 800 mm which results in APS-C mode at 1200 mm equivalent FF. ISO used 1600 - no tripod used. First photo is uncropped, second a slight crop.

The lens seems to be sharp at infinity!

I think one of the great things for me with the SL2 is the scope it gives me to move beyond what's possible with the Ms...  I was out today, in the morning up on the limestone scar behind our house in Kendal.  In the afternoon with a friend down by Morecambe bay at Grange-over-Sands.  Sigma 45 in the morning, SE 90-280 in the afternoon.  A consolation to have these resources during the lockdown.

I love the tonality in this but has you a considered a crop. If you’ll excuse my temerity I think the balance in this version works better. Do feel free to shoot me down in flames!

Hi Chris, no flames 😉, I appreciate any suggestion, it's just a matter of taste, I like to be drawn into the photo.

Dragon lantern, Leica SL2 with 24-90mm.  Simply love the colours and sharpness of the 24-90.  SOCC, unedited

That’s a nice one.  But why use APS-C mode rather than just crop?

I preferred the APS-C mode because I found it easier to see in the viewerfinder before taking the photo, what the exact position of the moon will be.

Darn Impressive. I wonder what was your exposure time (the moon is bright and moves fast)... you could have potentially used the multishot mode to make things even more "to the limit" :) ?

Things getting back to normal on a sunny warm weekend now that half the population (5/6 of the adults, I believe) are vaccinated.

I think you can see masks sitting on the tables.
