How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2480 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

The water below was disturbed by ripples from the ship as I saw to the scene too late to compose optimally.

 

I’ll look at the crop again.

I view the SL2 as the contemporary incarnation of the R series; my favorite film SLR of all time is my R8, which is such a dream to shoot with. My SL2 is the same, and the R primes are wonderful on it. This is shot with the Summicron-R 35/2, wide open.

I like it too. However there is no free lunch. With SL I used to shoot to much higher ISO values without much thinking. With my SL2 I can’t, must rely on keeping ISO low and hold my breath for IBIS to do its job. Very different shooting strategy.
