pascal_meheut Posted November 3, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 3, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, My M10 rangefinder is spot-on with my Leica lenses (50/1.4 ASPH, 90/2.8 Elmarit & others). And it was checked recently by a reputable reseller with the proper equipment. However, I also have a Voigtlander 50mm/1.2 and 90/3.5. The first one has front-focus and the 90/3.5 too but much more. Which is bad because both are excellent lenses. It there any way to get them fixed? With Leica lenses, I know I can send all of them + the camera to Wetzlar and I did so in the past (with my M9). But what about Voigt lenses?
Advertisement Posted November 3, 2019 Posted November 3, 2019 Hi pascal_meheut, Take a look here Front-focus with Voigtlander lenses. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
lct Posted November 3, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2019 I would ask Photo Suffren in Paris (link).
250swb Posted November 3, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2019 By the time you've had both recalibrated to work with your M10 you may as well have got an 020 Visoflex and enjoy even better focusing.
TomB_tx Posted November 3, 2019 Share #4 Posted November 3, 2019 I’ve bought several new Voigtlander lenses, and only one was not “spot on” for focus. I had it adjusted by DAG. (Some of their lens designs did suffer from focus shift to the rear as they stopped down, but mine were still perfect wide open.)

I already asked Photo Suffren but according to them, both the lenses and the camera are within tolerances. Using the Visoflex is not an option because I use this lens primarily with a M5 (and also because I prefer the rangefinder). DAG is an option but I was wondering if there is someone like him in Europe. Or a DIY guide (I know this is an hard task).
Twasi Posted November 4, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 4, 2019 I've been told you can adjust them yourself if you fiddle with the little ring that pushes on the lever in the camera. But for my money, I sent my Voigtlander F1.1 to DAG who has it at the moment.

lct Posted November 4, 2019 Share #8 Posted November 4, 2019 Besides Photo Suffren in France, i would ask La Petite Boutique Photo what repairman they work with. Otherwise i don't know if Will van Manen works on Voigtlander lenses in Netherlands. Jaap should know better about that.
Photon42 Posted November 4, 2019 Share #9 Posted November 4, 2019 Will van Manen did fix my Voigtlander focussing issue on a 1.1/50.
jaapv Posted November 4, 2019 Share #10 Posted November 4, 2019 Oh yes, Will does all brands of lenses, including Voigtländer and Zeiss.
pascal_meheut Posted November 4, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted November 4, 2019 Thanks again. I will consider Will van Manen.
