Nice.  Wasn't it a great display?  It made up for me having to miss the eclipse in April.   I posted on the Q3 image thread.

The English countryside on a warm sunny day and motorsport. A fine combination.

It absolutely was and I'm happy I could experience this even though it meant being out from 1 to 4 A.M. I was suprised I took not as many pictures as I'd think I'll do but then again each picture takes about 20 seconds. Honestly, shooting my Canon EOS R right next to it was way easier. I really struggled focussing manually with the Q2, a flip-out screen would actually have helped a lot in this particular case. Also I'd have to read this up but I think the Leica Fotos app overrides the manual focus? All in all, as much as I love the Q2, I'm not a huge fan of shooting the night sky with it.

I shot with a Q2 for a few years before "updating" to the Q3 last August.  I put that in quotes because there are pluses and minuses to both systems.  I had two main reasons for changing.  One was the improved sensor low light performance as I do like to take night shots or shoot in dimly lit situations.  The Q3 definitely is an improvement in that regards.  The second was the tilt screen.  You are correct stating the Q2 is hard to do night sky photos due to the fixed screen. But though I do not use it, I see no way the Leica Fotos app can override the manual focus. Manual focus is not controlled electronically in the Q2 or Q3 but is a mechanical control on the lens.  60mP vs 48MP did not make much difference to me.

I, too, was shooting side by side with a different camera for a wider view.  14mm on my Nikon Z7ii.  Here are those shots.

I would love to see your other shots if you have posted them somewhere else.

Thanks, I only have my Instagram account that I'll try to add in my signature and post some more pictures. I post more pictures here, however, as I'm feeling they are more likely to be seen and I don't have time and energy to keep up with social media, at least compared to the outcome.

Your pictures look great, you also chose an awesome place :)

I just confirmed my AF theory. Maybe someone else can reproduce this as well. I put the Q2 into manual focus and put it on infinity so everything on my desk was out of focus. I then connected to the Leicas Fotos app and released remotely. The camera caught focus and then took a picture. When I then turn the focus dial, still on MF, the image remains sharp. Hence, manual focus is not possible when connected to the Fotos app? I did not find a menu item to check back if there is some setting to be done on this yet.

Edit: There are some people reporting the same issue here. I'll write feedback or report an issue with Leica so maybe they can release a firmware update. Given the Q3 is already out I'm not sure they'll deal with it. Whenever I get close to a Q3 I'll try to check it out there as well.
