Some random wedding photos with the Q2, because I'm so busy I've not time to go through them right now..

Just taking a look at some direct flash action... I'm really liking direct flash - zoomed in to 50mm, 1/128th power

Hi Dan,

If you don't mind sharing, what's your flash setup? I have a Godox (Flashpoint) transmitter and flash unit for my Fuji setup. I have no problem being restricted to manual flash (i.e. no TTL) but am wondering if I'm going to fry the camera if I simply put the R2ProF on the Q2 and use it to trigger a 350 or 680 flash unit.

Thanks,

Steve

P.S. Big fan of your work. love to see how you put the Q2 to such good use producing powerful images.

Thanks Steve,

I'm using the "PIXAPRO® Li-ION350II Speedlite with Rechargeable Battery, Built-In 2.4GHz Receiver & High-Speed Sync" - it's the Nikon version

It's a rebranded Godox, it has a Li-ION battery. I'm typically shooting direct flash at 1/128th power zoomed in to 50mm - as I like the vignette you get from zoomed flash.

Thanks, Dan!

Flashpoint is Adorama's rebranded Godox, so it sounds like we have the same flash units (I have a 350 and a 680, the former is nice and small for the Q2). So you mount the flash unit directly on the Q2 and you've had no problems? I'm clueless when it comes to electrical compatibility so just wanted to avoid making a dumb mistake and frying a $5k camera! I'll either use it like you have, direct flash, or may put the R2ProF trigger in the hot shoe if I want off-camera flash.

Thanks again,

Steve

I think the flash-shoe is pretty standard, I'm not aware of any electrical issues. Never had a problem using non-Leica flashes on the Q/Q2 (except don't use Sony as it won't fit)

Lucky shot.  It was breezy out and this branch was moving.
