It was a tough year, for all of us.

At some point during this time I came to a realisation that I notice a lot less colour. I started to notice a lot more detail, often insignificant. At first I was very reluctant to accept it, but I kept at it and now I embrace it. If this is the result of the 2020, I have little to complain about.

I was lucky to be on a work trip to Tokyo and Taipei in February, right when all this nightmare started. It seemed so normal back then. Having relived those trips now, I welcome the changed reality we're in and hopefully I continue to improve further down the road, as will we all.

Here are a couple of snaps, nothing special, but I hope it can somehow underline how wonderful Tokyo is.

I'm a newbie here. I received my Q2 this past week and this morning I decided to drive out to Bombay Beach which is on the east side of Salton Sea. I experimented with manual focus (first time for me tbh) and although I had a few duds, I was encouraged by the results.

Here are some pictures I took this morning, a couple converted to B&W. Comments appreciated.

Bombay Beach is a very unique, strange, interesting place. Is the swing set still in the water?

Yeah, BB is definitely strange. I didn't see the swing set but I didn't wind my way up and down every avenue and street.

I took this photo with my Q2 in March. Highly cropped. The Q2’s resolution is amazing.

Visited my friend Bob A. at his farm yesterday afternoon. Went over to play some old time music, but the farm was filled with butterflies. I had no real macro setup with me, only my Q2, so I tried it out to see what I would get. Turned out pretty well, even though I had to get the camera within a few inches of the poor butterflies. These were shot at the 28mm setting, with the Macro switch on, held out at arms length and viewing (poorly) through the LCD. Minor cropping, processed to taste in Lightroom. First one at f/4, second at f/5.6.
