Don’t worry @bags27 CL is doing ok and will see a successor. However TL line is doomed. TL2 would certainly be the last of its kind.
And this is for the best. Knowing that Leica will throw all its R&D into only one APS-C camera, is better than seeing it split between X and T in the past. Or between TL2 and CL today.

New made in Germany TL lenses are still planned. But released date is unknown though.

Well, nicci, you just rained on my fantasy parade! 😃It's really hard for me to pretend I need an SL2 if there's really a CL2 coming....

T and TL/TL2 is a much more unique camera than CL. CL seems nice, but expensive compare to other makers.

A new X camera as a mini-Q would not be a bad idea.

Have you looked at how far back the sensor is in the M10? It is at the far end of the camera. On any mirrorless it is close to the lens mount. There is no way that one can add IBIS in a M10. The sensor in M10 is 8-12mm further back than any mirrorless. Pretty impressive when you look at the compact size of the camera.

Bummer.  I’ll have to go with an SL2 then.

Lack of weather sealing in CL system to date is a deal breaker for me, given specific alternative M priorities.

Jeff

Tropical rainstorms, 100% moisture @ 30º plus and salt air, spray from the ocean in small boats, mud splatters from bogged down 4WDs, my CL survived all of that the last few weeks. It may not have an IP rating, but it is one tough little camera.

Yes, but you didn’t take it in the shower with you. 😉

My Ms have also survived many instances of inclement weather, but I’d still prefer a system... body and lenses... that are better designed to withstand harsh conditions, including use of zoom lenses to avoid lens changes.  I’m more likely to be in snow than rain, fwiw.

Agree, but I am happy with the performance of the CL in inclement conditions. I would prefer some kind of certification, though. Although, IP65 like the Q2 is not much of a guaranty against moisture damage.  either Weather sealed up to 15º incoming spray is pretty useless.

I don't know you... but I think you are tougher than any camera :) I picture you standing out there in a monsoon with your CL...

The Q2 is IP52, I believe, but I get the point.  Leicas seem to punch beyond their weight in this regard, without obvious weak spots like some Sony baseplates, etc.  Although I have seen reports here regarding light leaks around some recent M mounts.

but the CL has the terrific lenses, and you need a CL to post on the CL thread together with all the wonderful photographers and people there. 😃

The passion for the CL on the forum is fascinating.  It isn’t as featured as the TL2, and is retrograde in many respect (M-like, I guess, which is no bad thing).  The TL2 has the same sensor and takes the same lenses as the CL, yet it is declare dead and buried many times here - having said that, so has just about every Leica camera at some point.

Perhaps it’s a reflection of the market desire for a built in EVF ...

As the Leica CL was only released in November 2017 I would realistically not expect a CL2 before early 2021 though...

I would not expect any new lenses before that either.  IBIS/OIS very unlikely I feel.  Might be a case of too little too late for quite a few people...
