Hi all,

Thought you all might enjoy this one.

I made my so-called living as a commercial photographer for fifty+ years,

but never had a shot as lucky as this.

This is an image made in 2006 with a V-Lux-1 ––a rare bird!

We'd had a huge storm overnight, so first thing in the morning I jumped into the car and took off all over the county to photograph.

Got some good images but liked this view, from my driveway when I returned.

Raised the camera to my eye, took one photo. Then the birds flew into the frame.

Then the birds were gone.

Never saw them coming; didn't see where they went.

No photoshop, except curves etc.

Loved the camera, but unfortunately, a very small sensor.

I traded it in on a V-Lux-2 as soon as they were released, but no joy.

The ergonomics were terrible, and electronic zoom just doesn't work like the mechanical one on the V-1

Now I use Sony a7R's with Leica glass, mostly.

Be well,

M

I guess they saw your camera pointed to the sky and properly decided to fill your frame. I also owned the V Lux 1 for a time but as you mentioned the sensor was inadequate.

This Begonia plant greets everyone who comes to our front door. (These days that's only the postman and the census takers.)

I was having an outdoor, socially distanced breakfast with a group this morning when this small butterfly landed on the back of one of one of my friends. Since today is International Photography Day, I had to get a shot.

Driving home today I saw these groomsmen gazing at the river while waiting for the photographer to finish shots of the bride and bridesmaids. When I first saw them all five were sitting in a row but by the time I parked and got there with my camera the two guys on the end had stood up. ☹️
