If this was a problem, common or otherwise, I think we would have heard about it here. lanetomlane Posted November 11, 2020 Share #47 Posted November 11, 2020 Advertisement (gone after registration) I bought the 35mm f1.4 earlier in the year as I wanted something faster than my 35mm Summicron but didn't want to "shell out" for the Summilux. I was so impressed with it that I've since bought the 50mm F2.0 and am really happy with that to. I did seriously consider the 50mm Sonnar F1.5 but because of the focus shift and fact that I like really sharp images decided to go for the f2.0. I have been researching quite a few wider angle lenses and this seems to have the best overall balance of price, quality, and functionality at this stage of my life. Well, the Sonnar has a certain „character“ which may not be loved by everyone. 😏 The 35/1.4 and 18/4 are distagon designs which are less prone to lead to color cast and blurry edges on digital sensors than biogon designs. I never had a Biogon but the Internet tells you that this might be an issue to consider when making the choice. I have and regularly use the 28mm Biogon.. It's a fine lens.. My 21 is the 1.4 Voightlander Nocton. I find it to be a wonderful WA lens. My first ever M lens was a Zeiss Biogon 25/2.8, and I still love it today. I have not tried the 21 or 28, but you should absolutely try out and check if the 25 is perhaps something for you. Narsuitus Posted May 15, 2021 Share #54 Posted May 15, 2021 Based on previous experience with Zeiss lenses on my Nikon SLRs and Contax rangefinders, I knew that the first lens I would purchase for my Leica M6 would be the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 Distagon ZM. The second lens was the Leitz 90mm f/2 and the third was the Leitz 21mm f/1.4. I now use all three lenses on my M10. I use code 11604 for the 35mm Zeiss Distagon. I use code 11136/11137 for the 90mm f/2 Summicron. The 21 is already coded. Welcome, dear visitor!
