Since you are in the Netherlands and ropo54 is in Miami, maybe it's just "The grass is always greener on the other side?" ;)

Dare I say it is!  Lots of sunshine and (saturated) greens. Even blue skies!  Rob

Not cheating - at all.  The image was still made with a Noctilux, and as it turns out f/1.0 is not the only aperture the lens has to offer.

At f/1.4, the background is still the stuff of dreams.

I made a comparison a while ago between the Noctilux f/1.0 and Summilux pre-ASPH at the same apertures, and surprisingly the bokeh from the Noctilux was much smoother than the Summilux at f/1.4, probably equivalent to a half stop. It was also a little smoother at f/2.0. At f/2.8 I saw no noticeable difference.

evikne: I will look for this post. Thanks much. I have noted the fine differences between 1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.7 in my daily "for learning" shots,  Since getting this lens about a month ago, I am continually surprised at its penchant for finding light and color that my eye's lens had not immediately seen. Truly delightful. My 50 Lux is an ASPH and, though my favorite, is quite different.

Herr Barnack: Confess to being a bit "tongue in cheek" about "cheating". But, didn't want to break the threads rules. the 1.0 is indeed, the "stuff of dreams". Regards.

Leica MP,  Noctilux 50/1.0 E58,  Tri-x pushed to ISO 800  (Developed with Ars Imago FD).
This is off the first roll of film shot with my newly acquired Noctilux.

Lighting in the room was extremely dim. This image is straight out of the scanner with no editing whatsoever.
There is no way I could have got this level of sharpness/brightness/clarity/low grain without  f/1.0.  It's not all about bokeh.

(You'll excuse the dust-spots. I'm working on it)

M10 w/50mm Noctilux f/1.0 wide open.

The camera angle is important when one wants to get two things in focus at the same time.

evikne,

you really know how to take advantage of the Noctilux field curvature.

congratulations for your images.
