Wow, is that purple fringing the Nocti or was it actually on those branches? I thought the chromatic aberration was not as bad in the 1.2

They are actually the seed heads of a type of grass.  However, yes there is purple fringing there but it is easily dealt with, provided one is not too bleary-eyed and tired at the time of post-processing!

I always shoot Noctilux wide-open. A few months ago I found that my long-time Leica ND filter had deteriorated and added bluish color tints. Got a new B+W ND filter and went out with my faithful M9 yesterday on a sunny Parisian day. After 11 years M9's CCD sensor is still the perfect match for Noctilux. No doubt.
