Sharing with you the outcome of my new experiment with the M11 and Noctilux 50/.95!

I've tried a subtle diffusion filter (the "Urth Ethereal ⅛ Diffusion Filter") to see the impact on portraits in terms of slightly reduced sharpness and subtle glow. I should have made the with/without comparison, something I intend to do at a later stage. But the effect of reduced sharpness is already visible - at least to my eyes! Note that this is a relatively weak/subtle diffusion filter so the effect is quite minimal, yet visible. NB: the vignette is due to my lighting source, not the filter. A 62/60 adapter was used.

That's very nice - a comparison, with and without, would be good.  The photo with the filter looks like what you might get using the 50mm f1.2 Noctilux without a filter.

Thanks will do, I just have to convince my test subjects ;)  but with their Christmas holidays they might be more willing to cooperate with me !

Haven't managed to get out of the house this week, so made a quick check that my shutter-button finger still functions...   ;)

@leicaoptik, @Keith (M), do you

also have to use two fingers to focus on you 50mm 1.2 nocti? My focus ring seems a bit too dampened/weighted to focus with just one finger.

I guess that is normal for this lens, when new at least, but just wanted to make sure everything is as it should be? 😊

Merry x-mas!

Sorry wrong thread - admin, pls delete. Will repost in correct thread.
