M6 Light Meter Reading: Forever underexposed

Hi, all --

No matter what aperture and shutter speed combination I select, my M6 is only giving me an underexposed reading. When I "wake" the meter with a half press, the right, overexposure, triangle quickly flickers for a millisecond, leaving only the left lit up -- so it seems to work. Has anyone experienced something similar?

What is the voltage of the battery or batteries? The manual says that the camera needs something between 3.0V and 3.1V

Yes, solved. It appears the batteries that came with the camera were almost dead. Once I added new LR44 batteries, its working correctly. Thanks for the input.

Use silver oxide or the Lithium cell, gives best readings.
