Mostly good stuff, but...

They put a Q2 in the shower for 20 minutes, water bouncing off ceiling to simulate rain, and the camera failed to start up afterward.  It came back to life after 5 minutes.

They also showed edge smearing shooting tree branches wide open.

Very informative review with quite a few hard numbers I’ve been looking, like burst rate buffer, noise and lens performance.

That’s a good, not too detailed review. I had not read anywhere else that the Q2 sensor does not have a glass covering like the Panasonic S1R. Not needed on the Q2 since its not an interchangeable lens camera.

Luminous Landscape only costs $12/yr. Well worth it for me. Interesting articles and insightful tests. I have no affiliation with them other than I subscribe.

It’s also the first time I’ve seen (on the record) that it shares the sensor with the S1R. Everyone seems to assume that for a fact, so it was nice to have it confirmed.

The Lula review is interesting but he was getting pretty poor performance from the lens wide open which doesn't seem right

His findings are consistent with other detailed reviews such as Reid Review. The lens is somewhat soft on the edges at f/1.7. Noticeable if you really look for it. Quickly gets better if you stop down a little. The lens is sharpest at f/4-f/5.6. No different than the Q was. Certainly nothing to be concerned  about for most of us.

Maybe. I had to go through 3 Q's before I got one I was really happy with ( lens was decentered, a long story) but the last one I did get was hand tested by Leica in Germany and performed well wide open but then this is a 47mp sensor. He does though show some slight smearing at f5.6 which is what surprised me really

This is really, really interesting for a couple of reasons. First, it's not surprising at f/1.7, because that's the way of most lenses wide open. But second, a year back some were quoting Leica folks as saying the lens was sharpest wide open, and extrapolating that f/1.7 was therefore the best and maybe only way to shoot. We had a discussion of depth of field that I'm not sure was convincing. Finally, I suspect that,  when PS and LR recognize the Q2, there is some automatic lens correction.

I agree and remember last year the f/1.7 being the sharpest f-stop. My guess is the data taken carefully refutes that as does common sense about lens performance. Typical sharpest f-stops are mid-settings. F/5.6-f/11. I use f/8 generally on my Canon lenses. It does cause me to think on the Q’s going forward, I’ll use f/5.6 for landscapes set at hyper-focal distance.

PS and LR already recognize Q2 (you can download Q2's DNG files from Leica's site). Yes, a built-in profile and automatic lens correction are applied, similarly to Leica Q.

Watches and Cameras - an ideal combination. Nice review.

I agree. I’ve had some success using the macro mode to photograph my mechanical watches with the Q, but I think the extra megapixels on the Q2 will make it a lot more worthwhile.
