I also own both bodies and I find the s1/s1r both heavier and also thicker with a deeper grip than the SL.

But like you I rather use AF lenses on those bodies anyways. But sometimes for low light I used the 35FLE or for a compact UWA the 21/3.4 (on the SL, havent checked on the s1r yet)

I think it’s mainly BS, but for those who believe in it the DxO numbers for the S1 sensor.  https://www.dxomark.com/panasonic-lumix-s1-sensor-review-2/.  or this. https://www.imaging-resource.com/news/2019/04/09/dxomark-reviews-the-panasonic-s1-image-sensor  or this  https://www.thephoblographer.com/2019/04/09/the-sensor-in-the-panasonic-s1-beats-the-eos-r-and-z6/

I expected also a test for the S1R. (I thought I had read that its sensor was even slightly better) But I could not find it. Maybe later ...

How big can you print with a SL or S1  compared to a S1R,   24 MP vs 50 MP. The video uses other cameres (from Fuji, XT3 and GFX, and Nikon Z7). But in the end it answers exactly this question (which I find quite interesting).    Sorry if you think it is too far off.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZNr24yVD9s

I quote: "The lenses make the biggest difference."  Good news for Leica users. (But not really surprising.)

Nearly perfect ?

That excerpt could be quoted in a Panasonic ad.  Nikon, however, would snip the end quote, where he says that it’s worth the money if you’re primarily a video shooter; otherwise “I’d go with Nikon’s Z6”.

Huff's review of the S1. Quite nice if you like his style. What I do not like, is that he completely ignores the facts, for example that serious testers have seen problems with M lenses on the S1 (diglloyd). I tried to add this in a readers letter, but it was simply suppressed - not very gentleman-like.
http://www.stevehuffphoto.com/2019/04/17/the-panasonic-s1-camera-review-the-best-i-have-seen-this-year-2019/

I understand his problem. He has only very few real M lenses, so he cannot really make the tests - but then he should allow differing opinions of people who really did the tests with the actual lenses.   (The 15mm voigtlaender is ok, as others have also confirmed. The WATE also. But some other M WA are not really good.)

A comparison between S1R and Nikon Z7.   https://www.digitaltrends.com/photography/panasonic-lumix-s1r-vs-nikon-z7-when-megapixels-matter/

And to complete the picture there is also a comparison between Sony a7rIII and Z7. So that you get indirectly a comparison between all three.  https://www.digitaltrends.com/photography/nikon-z-7-vs-sony-a7r-iii-compared/

Thanks. It sounds like another paid promotion. Under sensor, he mentions neither the difference in noise at high ISO nor the malleability of files. And he concludes, the sensor winner is the S1R. 😂

After so much Panasonic stuff, here a short video (commercial) about the latest Leica product.   https://player.vimeo.com/video/313342163   (Easter present ?)

I had the impression from Jonos review that the SL 35 is a great lens. But on the Leica website this impression is destroyed or least slightly damaged. There are now sample photos to be found under the title proofs of performance. But the lens used for these images had a problem on the left side, which has more vignetting than the other side. What a shame, it should have been easy to correct that.   http://en.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-SL/SL-Lenses/Prime-Lenses/APO-Summicron-SL-35

Or if it is a misunderstanding and just a way to give more contrast to the text displayed, then it is still a very unfortunate way of display.
