microview Posted March 31, 2019 Share #102 Posted March 31, 2019 There's now a Shoten adapter (Amazon UK £49.99) which at least is black – wonder if it's in any way better than the (silver) Novoflex.
microview Posted March 31, 2019 Share #103 Posted March 31, 2019 Senior moment: the Novoflex is also black ….

I like the price, Novoflex is over 130 quid. Did anyone used Shoten M-Z adapter, is it mechanically any good? mmradman Posted March 31, 2019 Share #106 Posted March 31, 2019 Do people concur with Jim Casson, I think blog post is Sony E specific but may be illustrative. https://blog.kasson.com/the-last-word/adapter-flange-distance-errors/ https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4351136#forum-post-62085228
Gelatino Posted March 31, 2019 Share #107 Posted March 31, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got Novoflex on Z6. Some time ago, for reverse ( Nikon lens on M body ) I bought K&F; less expensive but aluminium made...
willeica Posted March 31, 2019 Share #108 Posted March 31, 2019 1 hour ago, mmradman said: Question to Z6/7 users with M lenses, which adaptor do you use, would you recommend it? Novoflex. It is beautifully made and works perfectly. It is a dumb adaptor, but that is fine with manual focus M lenses which have no electronic connections. It works particularly well with the 75mm Summarit. I tried 2 knock off Z mounts from ebay, they works but plenty of plays. One knock offs even have a stuck pin that freaks me out, I had to dismantle the mount to set my lens free. I'm done exploring and ordered novoflex.

That would be interested but Z has the shallowest sensor distant so I guess the chance is low.

First, Nikon Z mount has registry of 16mm - shortest for full frame while Leica M is 27.5/27.8mm or there about. It works for M lenses on Z but not other way around. With Z/S lenses on M body only close up focus would be possible. Second, Nikon Z system or Nikkor S lenses have electronic aperture control, that would require some sort of smart adapter and M cameras have no flange contacts of any kind, 6-bit coding is just bar code reader. I only tried Novoflex, and it works perfectly well. Minimal play with one Voigtländer lens, but perfect with all my Leica M lenses. No reason to mess around for a pocketful of Dollars, if we talk Leica lenses to be mounted onto a 45MP camera.
