blackdot Posted September 5, 2023 Share #1648 Posted September 5, 2023 I love this lens. Only downside is having to use the hood in order to have a protective filter on there. I tried a slip on S7 holder, but it is too shiny and still bulky. I suppose I could paint it black. Anyone have any clever solutions? I’m too nervous to carry around such a nice lens with the front element exposed.

An unknown - to me - eBay seller has this e43 ring solution available: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/166207595187?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=709-127639-2357-0&ssspo=GB0MMD66QpK&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=yXNiXz-iTIG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Indeed, and no certainty that a 43mm filter will not vignet. One might have to add a e43/e46 step-up ring. I saw a similar solution a while back on internet in 46mm size: Welcome, dear visitor! The V2 is on the right of course; a vendor downtown calls his copy 35 summilux v4. But I guess he already compares it to the cron v4 😋.

My grandparent's house, originally a farmhouse from the early 19th Century. had the same type of pink ceramic tiles put on top of the earlier cedar shingle roof. Which meant no insects bothered the attic roof. Do you know the age of that roof? Best Regards, Michael Edited September 6, 2023 by Michael Geschlecht

But sorry, it was just a house we rented during our summer vacation in mid-Norway, so I don't know how old it is. The cat is ours, though. 😊

The house looks like it might be the top floor (Which might have also been the ground floor.) & attic of an old house put on a new combination of a new foundation with a new ground floor. Do you think that this is possible? Best Regards, Michael Edited September 6, 2023 by Michael Geschlecht

I don't know much about that sort of thing. If you're very interested, I might be able to put you in touch with the owner.
