Graham, is there anything noticeable about the copy that goes down to 0.75 besides the focusing ring turning a bit more? Can you share a photo of the focusing ring at its MFD?

JMF, is your image implying you have a Canadian version that goes down to ~0.8m?

Hello. Yes I can post tomorrow.

There’s no difference at all that I have noticed. I hadn’t even really noticed the ring turning more but I guess it must do  . I only picked up the MFD when I did some tests

I'd  say about 0,85m !

It is a 1969 Canadian lens, batch 234 .

Fortunately, my ex cine 1970 v2 RF coupled / M converted focuses down to 0,65m 😀

yet the engravings are not accurately positioned on the focus ring anymore since the Leica M mount conversion was done !

Here’s mine, a German one at MFD. It looks like most of the v2 lenses share an MFD of just under 3 feet. For reference, my serial is 3538XXX.

Titan (1992): Approx 0.9
Germany (1992): 0.75
35:2 v4 included for MFD reference

As you can see, in only the shorter focussing German copy the focussing arrow doesn't align perfectly with the aperture dot.  I only just noticed this. Not something I know much about but could perhaps indicate this lens has been modified ?

But in side by side tests with another black German copy (0.9 MFD) I can't notice any sharpness differences at all in all apertures zoomed to 200% on a 5K monitor, so no complaints at all here.

An outstanding photo. 👏👏  It is my personal b/w photo of the month, if not of the whole year 2023. Good to see that it was taken with a special lens.
