I do notice an interesting difference to  the Q Macro thread - the longer focal lengths are really helpful.

For Macro, they hold an advantage.

Not only does it give a more pleasing perspective, it creates better lighting conditions. In some cases it allows us to approach the subject (some insects, for instance) without disturbing them.
