M6 and Kodak Ektar film from the morning of August 5. Film developed and scanned to DNG format by Simple Photography Lab in California so I could process in Adobe Camera raw. Now that I have found this lab I am very comfortable going back to having fun using my M6 and M4 (after the M4 comes back from a complete overhaul with DAG).

24mm f3.8 Elmar..

50mm f2 Summicron..

and August 3 near downtown Dallas, with T-Max 400. Same type processing as above.

90mm f2 Summicron:

28mm f2.8 Elmarit ASPH..

50mm f2 Summicron..

Some images from downtown Fort Worth, Texas on Ektar 100 film, with the M6 and a set of lenses consisting of the 18mm f3.8 Super Elmar, 35mm f2 Summicron ASPH, 75mm f2 APO Summicron and 135mm f3.4 APO Telyt.

Expose for the shadows and process for the highlights. I love the natural looking (as upposed to the often fake-looking "HDR") dynamic range you can pull from Ektar negatives, shown in these next two images.

Angles and reflections.

1907..

One of the few photos I've taken with the closeup goggles of the DR Summicron, this photo is now the most popular one on my Instagram feed. It is also in my book project, which will be presented at Offprint Paris 2019 at the École des Beaux Arts, held concurrently with Paris Photo, 7-10 November 2019.

The book has been a long voyage and recently I've lucked out in getting together in a collaboration with what I call the Hollander Dream Team, comprising the most prize-winning designer of contemporary photo books, a hand bookbinder and a lithographer — as you can read in my LUF threadPhotobook Publishing and its Discontents. The foregoing link takes you to a post about the collaboration, but you can go to the first post in the thread if you want to read about the whole grueling process on deciding on whether and how to publish a photo book.

New images from my M6, captured during August with either Ektar 100 or T-Max 100. Process by Simple Labs of Petaluma, California, who also scanned them into DNG format and zipped to me so I could work the files in Adobe Camera raw as I preferred.

"Old No. 7".....currently not serving...M6, 35mm f2 Summicron and T-Max 100..

Belo Mansion on what used to be a swanky Ross Avenue in downtown Dallas. This is the last remaining mansion from what used to be blocks-worth of them, replaced by high-rise business offices. Today the home of a Law group, for several decades this served as a funeral home. One of the more notable funerals held in this house was that of Clyde Barrow, of Bonnie & Clyde fame..

19th Century corner, with lots of 21st Century buildings going up all around it..75mm f2 APO Summicron. Same camera and roll of film.
