rnl Posted January 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted January 15, 2018 try formatting the chip in the camera and see what happens
jaapv Posted January 15, 2018 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2018 I think it is a rather interesting image - you could try and sell it for art. It might be the SD card, but somehow I doubt it. I would advise you to send the file to Leica for evaluation.
adan Posted January 15, 2018 Share #4 Posted January 15, 2018 The most common cause of scrambled pictures is a faulty SD card, or faulty formatting of the card. It is, however, a remote possibility that the sensor in the camera is failing. Odds, plus the fact it is intermittent - makes the SD card the much more likely culprit, so as richardpilow says, try reformatting the card in the camera. Which card specification (Gigabytes, manufacturer, model name, rated speeds) are you using?
pico Posted January 15, 2018 Share #5 Posted January 15, 2018 You got the Duchamp A2D chip! I'll give you a dime on the dollar for it!
250swb Posted January 15, 2018 Share #6 Posted January 15, 2018 SD card is the likely culprit unless you told Scotty to go to warp factor 10.

Which card specification (Gigabytes, manufacturer, model name, rated speeds) are you using? I always format my SD-cards in the camera where it's being used. In this particular case i used a Samsung MB-SC32D.
01af Posted January 16, 2018 Share #8 Posted January 16, 2018 Probably a problem with the memory card. The card is not necessarily defective; it might work just fine in other digital cameras. Maybe it's just some sort of incompatibility between Leica and that particular card. Try another card from some other brand.
tobey bilek Posted January 17, 2018 Share #9 Posted January 17, 2018 clean the contacts on the card.
JohnnySeven Posted January 17, 2018 Share #10 Posted January 17, 2018 Nice image. Too bad it isnt intentional. Looks like an SD card issue. Has this happened again?
BjarniM Posted January 17, 2018 Author Share #11 Posted January 17, 2018 clean the contacts on the card. I never touch any contacts - neither on SD-cards or cameras. Nice image. Too bad it isnt intentional. Looks like an SD card issue. Has this happened again? This happens to one in every then pictures or so. Pretty consistent and returning. jdlaing Posted January 17, 2018 Share #12 Posted January 17, 2018 It’s probably a bad card. Replace it.
M11 for me Posted January 17, 2018 Share #13 Posted January 17, 2018 Did you try with a second card? We all know that not all cards work in the M10. My cards I just bought from the Leica dealer and they work fine. I hope for you that it is just an incompatibility of card and camera.

No, i haven't tried with another SD-card yet since the specific card used to work well in my M246. I will give it a go with another card.

Every 10th picture... more likely to be the new camera . Is it showing like this on the camera lcd or only on your computer via Lightroom or another software? BjarniM Posted February 22, 2018 Author Share #16 Posted February 22, 2018 Have done some more testing. Looks like it was the SD-card, as far is i'm convinced, and not a faulty camera luckily.
