Advertisement Posted December 4, 2017 Posted December 4, 2017 Hi kuad82001, Take a look here What is the turnaround time for CCD sensor replacement?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted December 4, 2017 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2017 Looooong... Depends which repair centre, Wetzlar is usually quicker that New Jersey. Inquire with Custome Service. You are aware that you have missed the cutout date for a free repair?
kuad82001 Posted December 4, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted December 4, 2017 jaapv,I purchased an M Monochrome first gen from Camera West. It was already sent out to have the sensor replaced. I could have bought one their NOS Monochrom with a 5 year warranty but did not want to come back from a shoot to find out that my sensor has corrosion. kuad82001 Posted December 4, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted December 4, 2017 I was told that it was sent to New Jersey Leica. Is there a difference between Jersey and Wetzlar?
jaapv Posted December 4, 2017 Share #5 Posted December 4, 2017 jaapv, I purchased an M Monochrome first gen from Camera West. It was already sent out to have the sensor replaced. I could have bought one their NOS Monochrom with a 5 year warranty but did not want to come back from a shoot to find out that my sensor has corrosion. It won't be replaced if it isn't corroded. When was the sensor replaced?
kuad82001 Posted December 4, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted December 4, 2017 (edited) jaapv It is corroded because Camera West is a large Leica dealer and sent it in for CCD replacement before I bought it. Edited December 4, 2017 by kuad82001

jaapv Posted December 4, 2017 Share #9 Posted December 4, 2017 Ah - I see, I thought you were still planning to send it in. The last I heard from the USA was early next year - more or less unspecified. Wetzlar appears to be running steady on about twelve weeks, New Jersey about double that. marcg Posted December 7, 2017 Share #19 Posted December 7, 2017 Mine took six weeks from the date of taking it along to the Leica store in the centre of Paris in March of this year to collecting it from the same store late April.
