I've just heard back from Leica Customer Care in Shanghai:

 

"Hi Jonathan,

        Good afternoon.

Our HKCC will send your camera to shanghai for repairing very soon. I estimate it will take 30-45days for the whole process including logistics time and in-house repairing.

So I suppose you can get your M9 back before the end of May2018.

         Please contact me if you have any concern.
