Tried them all . . And they’re all excellent, nearlyl as good as not bothering, my cameras are currently naked, no half case, no softee, no thumbs up.

I like that attitude. Sometimes I wonder why I bought all these accessaries (thumb grip and half case). The strap would actually be fully enough :-)

Is it not just a question of getting used to (either with or without)?

Medication check.

:) All is good according to the galactic master whom we monitor

through the secret codes embedded in Leica's MTF charts. So far

he prefers old time bokeh. He does not like Karbe. It's almost

a religious thing.

I have both the Match Technical and Leica thumb grip. Prolong usage weakens the "springs" in the hot shoe resulting in a loose fit for the evf or the flash.

Anyone else experience this problem?

I can confirm this. That is why i just bought the Thumbie Grip  for less than a quarter of the Leica price for the 24014. Best feature is, that you don't have to remove it to attach the Visoflex.

Thumbs Up: better ergonomics, covering the hot shoe can be a value-add for stuff like weather

Thumbie: cheaper, brasses, leaves the hot shoe open for EVFs/OVFs

I own both, and prefer the tradeoffs of the Thumbie because I also shoot a 21/3.4 SEM with an OVF fairly often. I would like to find a hotshoe cover I lot for when I'm not, though.

Hello fellow M10 shooters. For some reason i purchased all of the thumb grips for my M10. I had the Thumbs up for my M8 and M240 as well as my Xpro2 and knew I needed it for my M10.

At the time of launch there was none available so I said to myself that I would purchase the first available one. That ended up being the Match Technical Thumbs up EP-MX. This model was slightly different than the previous version for the M240 as it had a small allen head set screw to keep grip from wiggling. (although I have never experienced a wiggle before.)

I was unhappy with this version as you needed to carry around a allen key to remove it and attached the Leica EVF. If you dont need the EVF then this version is awesome.

When the leica version of the grip became available I purchased that one as it had no screw.  This version was nice but the curve of the grip i feel was modeled to follow the lines of the camera instead of the users thumb but I still used this one most of the time.

When Match Technically finally came out with a version that was like the old M240  one I purchased that one and I have been using it ever since. It is the EP-MXF.

Below are pictures of all 3.

The leica version and the set screw version are available if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Chris

I bought the Match Technical version for my M240. When I upgraded to the M10 I just used the 240 version on my M10. All good.
