Well I was the subject of an about to be taken street shot.....until it was realised I had a camera in hand and could (did) do the same thing.  This is the facial expression when that realisation dawns.

I thought that moderators were going to manage the overposters in this thread - posting anywhere from 6 to 12 photos per page per overposter fills up a page very quickly (20 posts per page).
 

It’s discouraging for us other posters that post 1 or 2 posts every few days in hopes of having our work seen as the pages disappear becoming old news very quickly. Also, I enjoy seeing other photographers work but have to scroll from page to page to find unique posters work. I find myself scrolling right past all the over posted images from the same posters that have no editing controls. I may appreciate and like some of the images but I don’t even look at them. It’s just too much.

i am on other posting sites where there are established rules as to how many posts can be posted per day or even per thread (which is a bit extreme but it is still an attempt to force some editing). I am also on some sites where there are no rules (as here) and, yes there are overposters there as well but it doesn’t seem as extreme as on this thread. In fact, I’m not sure any other thread on this site has this problem…?

OK, I’ve vented. As it is I am finding that I visit this thread less and less due to the above so I guess I’ve already solved the problem for myself…just thought that this topic needed to be brought up again…

For exactly those reasons, three of us Mods have been enforcing a rule of no more that 3 or 4 per day, pre thread, and have been doing so for around 6 months (I informed one over poster in another thread of this yesterday).  In the case of two forum members, after warning them we've hidden their over postings and informed them of that, which worked.  I strongly suspect that in the last few months what you've seen as still violating that rule is them posting on two consecutive days, not the same day.

Thank you for your post -- Perhaps that will help keep a few more over posters in line.

Thank you for responding. I didn’t realize there were ongoing actions being taken so that’s good. 
 

It still seems that each page having 12 - 14 images from only a few individuals is off putting. Maybe it is because other posters have stopped or slowed due to lost interest (as is my case. I know of at least one other prominent member of this thread that complained and finally left due to this issue. I miss seeing his work here). 
 

I guess, for me, it finally comes down to a lack of common courtesy for others by some posters in the use of a shared space.

[caveat: I am not free, posting too frequently sometimes in the monthly digest; and Pete hit name on my fingers for that. Ouch, like at the primary school where we could be slapped for not obeying.]

beyond that, I have recently also heard complaints about posters and it was mentioned this included a mod too (sic) misusing the capability of inserting several pictures (say 5 or more) in one post and hence having the 'drowning' effect just like Tuna mentioned.
