Edward Hopper painting

Thank you for saying so Otto or being able to identify that I have added an impression to my work. There is another painter Jeffrey Smart who has a similar flat hyper realistic style of painting. Well many artists have emulated Hopper and perhaps J. Smart has a different background and influences which guided him. Photorealistic is an amazing painting style but when the artists adds their own emotive impression the idea of hyper realism intrigues me greatly. Especially since I begin with a digital image or photorealism proper and then add my impression via photoshop. The technique I use is a three step layer process where the end result is quite subtle and by taking away some details, especially fine textures and then adding back in another way to create the smooth look. I call it "Creamy".

I don’t know what you post-processed and what was in the situation itself, and I’ve never been in Australia let alone Perth either, but the light and type of shadows seem quite Australian to me. At least a special fingerprint indeed.
