For everyone wanting a sturdy design while having a quick release system. Look into the Chief Mate https://www.chief-mate.com/en/

I use it for almost a year now. First on my Sony, but it even feels better on the M10. In the beginning it needs a little love to get smooth, but now it’s awesome.

Just attached a new Peak Design Leash to a CL and will probably get one for my M10.  In case anyone struggling to fit the V4 Anchor cord through the eyelet, found on the PD website a user tip which worked. Thread some Dental Floss around the anchor cord and pass through the camera eyelet then pull through.  After struggling with paperclips etc ....!

Awesome trick!  Worked great with my M (Type 240).  Thanks!!

Has anyone checked out the new Peak Design Leash strap with an M10.

The camera attachments are now smaller to get through the camera lugs.  I like the concept and the company quotes that the loops are very strong however I've just got that niggle in the back of my mind.

Regards,

   Les

I learned about Peak Design couple weeks ago actually, and I decided to try the Leash because I really liked their quick-connecting design.  After trying it with my M10-P and M10M, I decided that I won't be using it.  To me the anchor housings are just too bulky for the M, and even though they are plastic, they are close enough to constantly rub against the top corners of the camera.  Worst of all, the straps end up feeling like disorganized mess once you set the camera down, because the ends that wrap around don't stay together, if you know what I mean.  And last, the straps themselves are a bit too wide for me and I would say for an M body, too. I really wanted to like the Leash, but it ended up being a disappointment.

I finally found the perfect straps for my M cameras, so I suppose you just got to try them for yourself and see which you prefer.

Thanks for this tip (from 2 years ago!)

I've started to eye quick release straps but I've become such a vain hipster motherf... that I don't like the idea of using Peak Design as "everyone and their dog uses the same exact ones".  :D They could at the very least offer the cuffs in different colors.

I'm glad there are quality alternatives.

I used to use PeakDesign Leach, but last week I got two of these Artisan and Artist ACAM E25R Strap for Camera in Khaki colour, and really like them (and looks really nice in Khaki):

Just got the leash an hour ago. Was really looking forward to it but a few points on here made me think. One is how tight the fit is through the lug. I actually came here to see if anyone had luck getting it on an M10. Now I worry if I did get it through then the stress may end in catastrophe when I least expect it. It made me remember that I had borrowed a friends Fuji GFX100 (big camera) with the large Peak design strap. I loved it. Easy to use. Fast to attach and disconnect. I am fairly certain I checked the connection every single time. One time it disconnected and luckily I was reaching for it as it did. Saved myself 12 grand. Worked fine after. Maybe user error but accidents happen and my M10P is too precious to pick up off of the ground. I am going to break in the leather strap that came with it I guess. Glad I read this.

The trick to get the strap fitted is to pull it through the lug with a loop of Dental floss. The attachment clicks in - it is hard to see how it could possibly get detached.

I agree. I have no idea how it could so I'll assume operator error even though it's so simple and I've used a good number of camera fastening devices over a 25 year professional career and as a casual user way before that. Accidents happen and it's not always the fault of the equipment. That said, once an accident happens it can make you a touch hesitant. I'll be a Luddite and continue with older tech.

I have two leashes in the grey, a slide lite and a cuff in the black. I also have 2 capture clips and their everyday messenger bag. I've been a big fan of Peak Design's quality as well as their innovative and practical design.

But after getting my M10, I just couldn't bring myself to put one on. It wasn't a decision based on the straps themselves so much as the aesthetic of the anchors which have always looked cheap to me. Instead, I bought a beautiful Rock n Roll leather strap and an Ona Berlin II bag as I thought they were a better fit for my M. I will keep my leashes on my Olympus and Fujifilm cameras where they work very well.

I should add that I have never had an anchor or PD strap fail on me and highly recommend their products.
