Jon Pop Posted July 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted July 22, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I just purchased a new black M10. Of course, I'd seen the photos that show a slightly different lens release button than on the 240 - it's of no matter to me, except this one feels like it is the slightest bit 'rattly'...lens mounts solid with a good 'click', no issues there. But the tab/button has some movement..not of the kind where it's going to release the lens mind you. Just like a part that isn't screwed down tight. All my other Leicas (MP film, M9, MP240) although their buttons may vary slightly, are all bank vault solid even when there's no lens on it....there's no movement of the button itself. I may just be focusing on nothing...like I said, the lens mount is solid, the type of looseness I'm describing isn't of the kind where things are disengaging..just the button itself if that makes sense. Other M10 owners....put me at ease...or not...

Bill W Posted July 25, 2017 Share #6 Posted July 25, 2017 Of course I had to try mine. If it does move, it is so slight I cannot feel it.
Stonewall Brigade Posted July 27, 2017 Share #7 Posted July 27, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have not checked my M10, but knowing it is German made, it must be perfect.
Hey You Posted July 27, 2017 Share #8 Posted July 27, 2017 Less than a week after I bought it, my M10 ceased to function. The shutter button had felt soft for several days, and then stopped responding. Half an hour later, over a beer, I notice that the shutter button surround is unscrewed. Once tightened, everything is as it should be. I was surprised that something as basic as this could come loose.

Hey You Posted July 27, 2017 Share #10 Posted July 27, 2017 It should be the first suggestion in any trouble shooting manual. Slashdot had a great comment on trouble shooting manuals. Documentation is like sex: when it is good, it is very, very good; and when it is bad, it is better than nothing.
