azzo Posted June 21, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 21, 2007 Nice perspective and tones, contrast and light captured. Very nicely seen John. Azzo
cam2000 Posted June 21, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 21, 2007 JR your BW are beautiful....... and this is no exception!
dan_drabek Posted June 21, 2007 Share #4 Posted June 21, 2007 Clearly pro-quality work. Perfectly composed. Super sharp detail and the contrast is taken to the limits without being garish. The figure adds just enough humanity to give scale and some personality. Looks like an interesting place to visit. DD
andybarton Posted June 21, 2007 Share #5 Posted June 21, 2007 Even my Mrs likes this one, and she doesn't like B&W work. So it must be good! PS - I do too.
elansprint72 Posted June 21, 2007 Share #6 Posted June 21, 2007 Real quality shot of one of my favourite places.
stuny Posted June 21, 2007 Share #7 Posted June 21, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) John - Truly wonderful image for its depth, detail, tonal range, lushness, contrast, composittion and slight toning.
Guest Metroman Posted June 22, 2007 Share #8 Posted June 22, 2007 Beautiful light and tones. The female gives good scale and the cobbles are just right. Must be early morning, street cleaners have recently been through - wet line up the pavement - and the newpaper in the door handle. Would make a nice large print. Michael Hiles Posted June 22, 2007 Share #9 Posted June 22, 2007 Absolutely beautiful. Just a little mystery, looks like provincial France at lunch time.

jmr Posted June 26, 2007 Author Share #12 Posted June 26, 2007 Thanks for all the feedback, it's appreciated. The shot was taken early on a damp and flat morning. Saint Malo is so full of interesting, dark streets that it's hard to miss getting a reasonable shot.
