Advertisement Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Hi cookedart, Take a look here Leica M10 Firmware 1.3.4.0 available for download. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
digitalfx Posted February 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted February 13, 2017 The EVF is significantly improved. As in now its actually pleasant to use. still didn't fix the "hold" option for image review. WiFi bug seems to be fixed.- although it doesn't allow you to see the actual characters only ***** The display bug that shows the wrong meter mode is still there, although now erratic. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
cookedart Posted February 13, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted February 13, 2017 FYI, I clocked the shot to shot time blackout time with live view at about 1.27 seconds with firmware 1.0.2.0, it is now around .75 seconds with the new firmware.
digitalfx Posted February 13, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2017 seems odd that we jumped from 1.0.1.0 all the way to 1.3.4.
cookedart Posted February 13, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted February 13, 2017 seems odd that we jumped from 1.0.1.0 all the way to 1.3.4.0 I thought the same thing. I had 1.0.2.0 on my body but still. Where did all the versions go?
Cliff S Posted February 13, 2017 Share #6 Posted February 13, 2017 Those were the ones with video and the level.

digitalfx Posted February 14, 2017 Share #8 Posted February 14, 2017 looks like the embedded profile hasn't changed.
cookedart Posted February 14, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted February 14, 2017 - GPS with the visoflex seems to be working much more reliably now. I get a signal much faster, and it successfully tracks a walk I do regularly that previously did not work consistently. - Also, the 10x magnified view in Live View no longer slows down its refresh rate, with capture assistants on (like focus peaking). The refresh rate is the same no matter what zoom level now.
CJJon Posted February 14, 2017 Share #10 Posted February 14, 2017 Could this be the reason that no orders are being filled lately? Seems like they just started hitting the streets and Leica stopped shipping. Maybe now that they are out of beta, units might start to ship.
digitalfx Posted February 14, 2017 Share #11 Posted February 14, 2017 Could this be the reason that no orders are being filled lately? Seems like they just started hitting the streets and Leica stopped shipping. Maybe now that they are out of beta, units might start to ship. Beta? no this isn't the reason...this is simply a standard FW update. The reason its slow is they ship worldwide...so dealers are only going to get a few cameras at a time and the wait lists are long.
jlindstrom Posted February 14, 2017 Share #12 Posted February 14, 2017 ^ indeed, world wide shipping.. next time they should just skip the rest and make sure Finland gets fast deliveries [emoji847] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
ramarren Posted February 14, 2017 Share #13 Posted February 14, 2017 Nice to see that Leica is pushing the firmware update cycle reasonably quickly. Don't worry about the version numbers jumping around. That's just a result of whatever their internal process works like. I recall the SL firmware update cycle: it went from v1.2 to v1.3.x through several revisions, and the release was set to v2.0. Engineering, the build system, and marketing department all weigh in on the actual release numbering.

MarkP Posted February 15, 2017 Share #18 Posted February 15, 2017 Shame there's no horizontal/vertical level in the FW - must have just been a nasty rumour.
chris_tribble Posted February 15, 2017 Share #19 Posted February 15, 2017 Fully agree re Visoflex / LiveView usability with the new FW. Although for 80-90% of shots the RF remains the device of choice for framing and focusing, with 21SEM and focal length > 90 the EVF is really really usable. THANK YOU LEICA! tjxism Posted February 18, 2017 Share #20 Posted February 18, 2017 I expect next FW to deliver button long press shortcuts, esp. quick access to personal profiles.
