The money may be far more useful to him or her than an image that they never requested to be taken.

Might be. But then, many appreciate the fact they receive an image…

Now we could discuss, what has more value: an image or some minutes of music…

In the end, it’s an artist gift to another artist..

I think that assumptive. Did you ask them whether they would prefer money or the image before taking the shot?

Assuming they want money is also assumptive.

I ask if I can portray them…

Does a street musician ask me if I want to hear his/her music?

But then, I am not a street photographer. Not meaning this in a bad way. Normally when I make a portrait, the sitter gets the image. That’s why my pov might be different.

With this kind of picture, I always wonder if the presence of a person makes it more interesting or is disturbing. There is so much interesting detail everywhere. Does it add anything in your view? (Please do not read any criticism here, this is a genuine question I ask myself every time I take a picture as I instinctively wait for people to leave form the field of view before shooting).

Thank you for your comment - it's an interesting question.  This particular location (Roman Baths in Bath) is usually very crowded, but I went early morning and there was just one other tourist with her iPhone.  I also cropped the photo to draw more attention to the person, but you're right, there is so much more interesting detail here.

Here is the full frame with the person (and reflection) removed - thank you Lightroom and AI 🙂 Which do you prefer?  I also accidentally posted in the wrong thread because it was taken with a Q3!

Since the crop is so different it's not really a fair comparison.  I'd like to see #2 with and without the person, but both cropped to the top of the building behind.  Generally, I try to avoid people who are just foreign to a scene's locale and often include locals in a scene like yours.
