Sorry. Just to bring this back on topic.. have there been ANY units shipped recently?

Good question not much detailed information coming through about pre-orders being fulfilled either on this UK forum or the general one on availability. Ive almost given up hope.

They are shipping everywhere. My dealer says they are shipping "multiple" M10's every week. This was on Facebook today from another dealer...I spy batteries!!!

I've moved up the list at Leica City  - I was 16th on the list for a silver and now 11th.. so 5 units have come in 2 weeks I think.

5 silver, no telling how many total. I thought you said your dealer wasn't updating you on where you stood in the que?

This seems to be in line with a dealer I spoke to last week. He was delivering about 4-6 per week, mostly black...this seems to be significantly more than the M240 deliveries.

I emailed them. They didn't volunteer the details.

They wrote:

I am pleased to say that your order is moving up the list to number 11. We will be in touch as soon as we have taken receipt of your new M10.

So not 'we will keep updating you' etc.

I don't think they want you to keep asking.  Because it isn't going to hurry anything up.

When I was younger I kept asking my mother "When do we have Christmas again" - and I started in January. In the end Christmas came.

So I was sure asking as often as you could hurried up events. May be I was wrong; a Forum like this is always good to learn something for life.

No. It won't hurry up anything but it's nice to know? They've got £2000 deposit. It's not unreasonable.

FWIW I don't think £2,000 is a reasonable deposit to ask for in these circumstances.  10% fair enough - I was happy to hand that over.  The dealer was careful not to give even an approximate delivery period.

Well I've had this explained to me- the store is a Leica store - it's part of Leica UK (not an indy dealer). It's a smaller store in the City of London - and they mainly carry compact cameras and a couple of binoculars. More the 'fashion' end of the Leica range. They don't have the capacity to hold much stock that can't be accounted for so I think the Manager decided to take a serious non-refundable deposit to keep the lists more manageable and to guarantee each camera has a buyer and stop multi-listing.

However I'm also on the list at the main Leica store. The other store will also honour the deposit so whichever comes first will be fine.

The policy makes no sense to me other than it would help their cash flow and they might get you one faster (not becaise of the £2k deposit - more because they have less footfall than Red Dot or Mayfair).

I agree that the City boutique looks like it is aiming at a different slice of the market - people who would rather magnify a red dot than cover it up.  It's a broad church and no mistake.

Anyone tried Harrods?

I dropped a couple of films off for developing at my local Leica dealer yesterday and learned that they had received just two units for customers since the launch, one black and one silver….. this means one black unit every 34 days.

I believe I am now fourth on the waiting list but I don’t know how many in front of me are waiting for black units, worst case scenario its all three and the best case scenario its zero. I can calculate a very crude due date based on one black unit every 34 days and there being zero to three orders to fulfil before mine:

Units before mine     = 0 then mine is 34 days = 28th March 2017

Units before mine     = 1 then mine is 68 days = 1st May 2017

Units before mine     = 2 then mine is 102 days = 4th June2017

Units before mine     = 3 then mine is 136 days = 8th July 2017

It’s a bit sad I know but I have to do something to kill the boredom whilst I wait.

No deliveries in the U.K. since the 23rd February?

Or are the lucky recipients too busy playing with their toys (or too embarrassed) to tell us about it?

Just picked up my M10 from Leica City store London.

Ordered exactly a month today.

I was 11th on the list but only 2nd for a silver one.

I expect they are getting 2 or 3 of each camera in every month.
