Rick Posted January 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2017 Advertisement (gone after registration) I must apologize and explain the M10 color comments I've made were using an older version of Lr profile. Jono pointed out to me that I may not have the latest Adobe Lr version. I didn't realize this. NOW I AM ON VER. 6,8. This new ver has both the Embedded and the Adobe Standard. EVERYONE NEEDS TO UPDATE AND USE THE ADOBE STANDARD. This completely removes the problem of the profile being 1) too yellow 2) oversaturated 3)slightly warm AWB. Mike Rawcs Posted January 28, 2017 Share #4 Posted January 28, 2017 Rick, I posted this in another thread but can't find it now; do you (or anyone else) know if I'll have to update to Lightroom 6 (Creative Cloud) when my M10 arrives? I'm currently using Lightroom 5. Thanks, Mike.
Stealth3kpl Posted January 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2017 I think you will need to. I was on 4.x but needed cc with the Q. Pete
dkmoore Posted January 28, 2017 Share #6 Posted January 28, 2017 Yes, you will need to update to LR6.8. Or, you can adjust manually in LR 5. Reduce yellow slider and/or WB slider. This would be a lot of extra work depending on how many images you edit so if you do this manually you would want to create a profile that updates upon import. Peter H Posted January 28, 2017 Share #8 Posted January 28, 2017 Example I also posted in the image threat: Adobe profile vs. Embedded. Clearly shows the difference. Wow, that's an enormous difference. Why would the embedded profile be so way off?
Ario Arioldi Posted January 28, 2017 Share #9 Posted January 28, 2017 Example I also posted in the image threat: Adobe profile vs. Embedded. Clearly shows the difference. Which FW version do you have? There are currently at least two installed in the cameras which have been sold, 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0.
wstam Posted January 28, 2017 Share #10 Posted January 28, 2017 Example I also posted in the image threat: Adobe profile vs. Embedded. Clearly shows the difference. Wow, the different is big. I understand only the updated LR provides the standard profile which produces the right color. I don't understand why the M10 profile provided by Leica will produce the yellowish color? Isn't the profile from Leica itself? Couldn't understand the logic. Thanks for sharing.
CYBORA Posted January 28, 2017 Share #11 Posted January 28, 2017 I hope Leica will fix that yellowish color problem in the next firmwares.
chris_tribble Posted January 28, 2017 Share #12 Posted January 28, 2017 Cybora - I don't think it's a camera problem. It's the software that was creating the skin tone issue. Now fixed,
digitalfx Posted January 28, 2017 Share #13 Posted January 28, 2017 Which FW version do you have? There are currently at least two installed in the cameras which have been sold, 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0. its not the FW...its the profile in Adobe LR 6.8 (Adobe Standard)
Ario Arioldi Posted January 28, 2017 Share #14 Posted January 28, 2017 its not the FW...its the profile in Adobe LR 6.8 The one using the embedded profile is FW dependent, I guess.
edwardkaraa Posted January 28, 2017 Share #15 Posted January 28, 2017 The embedded profile is of course from the FW but also it's how ACR interprets it. It's curious because I normally prefer the embedded profile of every Leica camera I have used so hopefully Leica will fix this one.
CYBORA Posted January 28, 2017 Share #16 Posted January 28, 2017 Cybora - I don't think it's a camera problem. It's the software that was creating the skin tone issue. Now fixed, I also wrote " the next firmware " meaning the software. The JPEG has still this problem, hope to get the colors fixed.

edwardkaraa Posted January 28, 2017 Share #18 Posted January 28, 2017 Sorry I was referring to the Adobe Standard profile, which looks much better. Understood. It looks like the embedded profile is faulty though.
jaapv Posted January 28, 2017 Share #19 Posted January 28, 2017 Why not make a profile to your own preferences? Adobe, embedded - it is just a colour rendering as the programmer likes it, not necessarily your taste.
