This is a "no man's land" in the West bank, mingling Jewish and Palestinian villages/settlements.  I have been told that the hills were once forested  before the Ottoman empire cut down all the trees to fuel their trains and make charcoal.  But it looks as if it has been this way for thousands of years.

Scott, how are the corners with the 24/2.8 Asph?  I have a chance to buy one. and would use on my M10-R for landscapes. Most often at f/8 - 11

The shot above is a pretty good test case.  I shot at f/8, and rendered the jpeg full frame at 75%.  You should be able to download it from Flickr.  I am sure it is not as sharp across the field as the current generation of SL Summicrons, but what lens designed in 1998 could be?  I generally use f/4 or smaller but open up further if I need more light.  Its strength is a very open color rendering in the mid tones and contrastiness across the center two thirds of a frame.  They don't make them any more, so this sounds like an opportunity.  My copy lives on one of my M10s all the time.

Erwin Puts and Sean Reid both have commented that it is an exceptional lens.

Another sunny day 🙂 ...

it looks like nature is tuned into the news here, but given that it’s November it may be a rare positive side benefit of global warming 😐
