How to upload images: Prepare the image as follows: 1.   The image should be sRGB and 8-bits 2.   Reduce the size to 2048 pixels on the longest side. (smaller sizes can be set, but are not recommended) 3.   Sharpen properly for screen. 4.   Save as JPG to your desktop, reducing JPG quality to produce 2000 kB (5000 kB for sponsoring members). 5.   In Lightroom these parameters should be set in the Export dialog. 6.   In the Forum posting or editing box, click “choose Fil

Taken yesterday, along Biscayne Bay in Miami Beach, Florida. 

These pelicans were going back and forth over the water, looking for fish.  They lowered their head when they got close, then rapidly flew down the water and kept going until they caught the fish, or missed.  

My opinion, this is not a very good application for a Leica.  A DSLR with a longer lens, and more importantly faster follow-focus would make it much easier.  Since my goal was to see what I could do with the M10, I went ahead anyway.  Lots of lost opportunities to delete later, but this one I rather like.

50 mm lens, with the shutter in (A)perture priority mode.  I guessed at the focus.  400 ISO, which let me use 1/1000th of a second.  I don't remember the aperture.

The strange file name was created by PhotoMechanic Plus, and the processing was done in PhotoLab 4, which I'm gradually learning.

Crotons are some of the prettiest plants I get to see while walking around.  This one was all by itself, with interesting scenery all around it.

I actually think all the colors came through in the photograph.

I see these all the time in India, but not this pretty.  In some parts of the country they grow indoors, but this was in front of an apartment building in Miami Beach.  I took other photos, but this one came out exactly like what I wanted.

 

For what it's worth, I think it is infinitely easier to take this with a DSLR, but the Leica lets me select the specific spot I want in focus.  You can't tell from this photo, but my 50mm Summicron, from maybe the 1970's, makes sharper images than my basic 50mm Nikon DSLR lens.

Taken this afternoon, Miami, as the sun was coming in and out from behind a lot of rain clouds.

Ten minutes or so after taking this, it was raining.

Everything was pure happenstance. I opened Fotos on my phone turned on my M10 and paired the two.  The camera was simply sitting on the table with the spoon across from it. When I saw the spoon happened to be in focus, I fired the camera remotely. All done over my first cup of coffee of the day. In a matter of moments.
