I like this time of year here, the foggy mornings always start around mid-July time. Very early mornings see the forest and rivers creating lots of low fog, in a few weeks it will hang around until a more reasonable hour but had to be out at 4am to capture these.

Looking across to the village where I live

And in the other direction

Went out comet shooting last night but Neowise had mostly disappeared behind the clouds when this was taken around midnight.  Can just see a faint image of the comet to the left of the church spire.  Exposure time was 22 seconds with a 50mm lens, which meant I had star trails.  Put that down to user error, but it was so dark I couldn't see to change the settings.  I quite like the colours anyway.

Taken with an M10-D (no Visoflex) so I had no idea what the result would be until downloading this morning.  All part of the fun with an M10-D.  Shadow detail has recovered well - this church is in the middle of nowhere, there are no lights of any kind and it really was dark?  While tempted by the M10-R, I wonder whether its high resolution sensor would have produced anything better than the D's 24mp?

My son took a much better photo a couple of nights earlier with Noctilucent clouds as a backdrop.  It was taken with a Leica lens but I don't think I can upload it here because he uses a Sony camera!  I am still trying to educate him . . . .

A bit of an experiment this morning, not used the photos app before but as I have a Thrush nest right outside my kitchen window, I stuck the camera on the tripod, focussed on the nest and waited for the mum to come in and feed. Pretty much the worst conditions, into the sun, lens flair and the nest in shade but this is nice enough. I am clearly not a wildlife photographer!

Nice, but is there more in the shadows that you can boost?
