But that's assuming B&H is fulfilling orders based on your spreadsheet. Maybe they're not. They can sell in whatever order they want, especially if someone cancels an order, who knows what happens. I got a Leica Sofort last December after it was backordered from B&H off Amazon. Im not convinced big dealers have lists like a small store would.

That is my assumption which seems to be supported by imperical evidence. I do assume they deliver based on a first come basis. Because they are large is exactly why they would operate this way. They need a system to follow because they don't have time to sort through who is worthy and who is not. A small store on the other hand has "allegedly" delivered out of order and I believe if you read through all the posts on this thread you will find evidence of that happening.

I think the sheet does indicate that B&H ships out of sequence and I would think they kind of have to. The longer they wait the higher the risk of cancelation so they could loose 20K order over a 7K body only order. Other complexity is the reservation of inventory, order with multiple item missing the M10 may suck up inventory that they could sell in the meantime. Who knows how their system handles that.

Lastly, even a large company like Fuji seem to struggle with demand, the X100F seems to play hard to get as well

I ordered B&H 3/28, bundled with a lense. I am hoping for July/August. There will be a time where new demand cools down and probably then B& and Adorama will receive larger allocations

I have been on BH's list since 1/31. Last week I called cameraland and within a week I have my black M10 now. Hope this inspires others!

I decided to give my MD to my son as a birthday present, and put in another order with Joel at CameraLand for a black one this time. He says I should have it within a week or so.

The sheet does not indicate that if you look further into the B&H Black M10 orders. I have messaged one member who put their name on the list with an early order date but he has not responded. He has not been on this board since March. There is some noise on the spreadsheet but if you dig deeper you can see they are following an first come basis.

I will also say I have spent close to the amount you mentioned, this year (2017) alone with them, and I had to get three new lenses released from my M10 order. They are not going to jump line for 99.9% of their customer base. I am sure there are exceptions, say if Lebron James walked in and wanted one, but for the vast majority I believe they stick to their guns. It's big business and that is how they operate.

I think the fact that B&H won't tell you how they operate or where you are on a list makes it likely they don't follow any certain pattern. My guess is they randomly pick a name that's up and send the black camera to them. How would anybody ever know? I put in several orders already, so hoping that increases the odds.

What I don't understand is, that so many user are complaining about B&H and adorama but still stick to their orders. Quite a few members are posting alternatives (e.g. CameraLand) where they obviously get the M10 in a much shorter time...

I totally agree with Magic. B&H commitment sucks!! I live in the US and have ordered black M10 from Leica Dubai and got great service from them and a very reasonable price. They even offered a free training course if I ever visit Dubai :)!! My friend is in Hong Kong and also got his silver Leica M10 from them in 2 days. We ordered online through their website and received it perfectly fine. They followed up with us during the whole process of shipping! Highly recommended!

I think people stick with BH and Adorama because they don't charge sales tax if you live out of state. That's the only reason I can come up with, save a few hundred bucks. BH & Adorama market the new m10 as coming soon but seems misleading if soon means six months from now. I imagine too there are a lot of people who are simply getting an m10 to try and resell it quickly on ebay.

I was told BH will most likely have to pay the $300 increase per order even though the customer won't, which means they probably have incentive now not to fulfill old orders at all. If there are hundreds of orders, multiplied by $300, that's a lot of lost revenue.

Congratulations....I consider asking them for comission now :D

That means the BH spreadsheet is wrong, not surprised. They must be fulfilling orders out of order.

No that does not mean that. It could mean someone entered a wrong date, or attached it to an order with something that is not available yet.

Let's assume BH had three hundred orders over last three months since the release date. Times $300 less than the price now, that's $90,000 they'd have to swallow. Yeah, I don't think BH is going to fulfill any of those orders. Im going to look elsewhere. Lesson learned for next time, stay away from big dealers.

I am certainly no B&H apologist but I am baffled by your continued way of thinking. If B&H has three hundred orders, why wouldn't you assume they have some massive leverage with Leica to forgo the fee?

Stay away from whomever. Cancel your order and call other listed shops and have it. You will only be out the price increase which is small fries for all of us at this point making such a purchase. You can probably find a Silver Chrome this week. I have passed on at least five of them because I am waiting for Black Chrome.

Technically, B&H doesn't charge for orders until they're shipped. So they don't owe anybody anything. Im just expressing my viewpoint. Clearly, something isn't right, if people who ordered black version on day after it came out haven't gotten one yet. B&H must not be getting any at all. It seems like small shops are the ones who are getting there orders filled. I don't want to wait nine months or a year to get one so I will look elsewhere. But I'm keeping my B&H order and will just resell it for more, making up the $300 price difference eventually.
