Ecar Posted May 19 Share #15005 Posted May 19 Taken in the gardens of the Palais Royal in Paris a few years ago. I remember having a chat with this fellow. Despite the nature of his job, which he had been doing for many years, he was particularly talkative and cheerful. He said that the volume of garbage collected was increasing exponentially, due to tourism, multiple events, take-away food and worsening behaviours. However, he had quickly learnt to accept human inclination to leave their litter behind and had become a fatalist in this regard, now seeing his job as a contribution to the preservation of a beautiful place. His biggest gripe? Neck and back pain… M10 + 1960 Summilux 50/1.4 v1, wide open or @ f/2 Welcome, dear visitor! M11M + converted 197X Elcan 2"/2 @ f/4 I knew someone would spot that Reassuring that the taxpayer funded a reasonably priced & lightweight lens (a good lens if I recall correctly). My 135 Elmarit with goggles would have made it tail heavy.

Every summer for about two weeks before the annual airshow the pilots would exercise the old BoB aircraft. I recall relaxing in the garden one sunny afternoon with a cup of tea, watching a Spitfire dash about the sky. Marvellous.

Mmm... probably true in this case. However, the (roughly) contemporary Vulcan bombers went for less budget-friendly Dallmeyer Super-Six lenses. At least the business was awarded to a local manufacturer... They sometimes appear at auctions in the UK - usually in poor condition.
