What is the meaning of "Frankenstein"?

Claus

I meant it to signify a lens that's made up with parts from other lenses, in the same way that in the story Frankenstein's Monster was supposedly made from parts from different people (and brought to life with a bolt of lightning).  I was told by Brian Sweeney at the time that my Opton Sonnar was made with parts (not the optical elements) from a Jupiter lens because genuine Zeiss parts were not available.

Pete.

And up close, testing the focus accuracy on my Monochrome, and it is excellent..

More from today with the Carl Zeiss 85mm f2 in Contax RF mount, using the Amadeo Contax to Leica M adapter with the M246 Monochrome, using the rangefinder, not live view/EVF to work up closer.
