Ecar Posted October 22, 2022 Share #9716 Posted October 22, 2022 (edited) Quick experiment of the day with an unusual prototype lens that has an interesting, Wetzlar-related history: it seems that it was originally designed for a camera (the "Hensoldt Publica") that allegedly infringed on Leitz's intellectual property. This led to legal action and, ultimately, to the end of the project with no more than 100 bodies left in various stages of production in Dr. Hensoldt's Wetzlar factory.. The lens is in LTM but uncoupled, which required me to take the pictures below with the help of the EVF. All wide open, where the lens is sharp (sort of…) only in the very middle of the frame. It appears to get better by f/4. I’ll post more once it gets back from a CLA. M10M + 1947 Dr. Hensoldt "Proto" 55/1.8 Welcome, dear visitor! I'd choose the first option 😉 - kept my 8E (screwmount) and sold the Lux (no steel rim) 2
