1945 Carl Zeiss Jena 50/2 Sonnar with SL601.  The model, Aria, painted herself silver and the 'clouds' below her are paint residue from where she had stepped or lain on the floor.  The Sonnar provided the flare from the studio lights reflecting off Aria.

The infamous glow.

Which lens do you mean by Steel Rim?

Lex

Hi Lex,

I think Steven means the 35/1.4 Summilux pre-asph first version (the original that had a silver steel ring at the front and takes the OLLUX lens hood).

But it's a fair point you bring up that abbreviations for lenses such as 50e46, SEM, Lux etc are clear to the poster but not necessarily to those who are viewing the post and picture.

Could I therefore very politely ask that when posters identify the lens used that they very kindly describe the lens in full so that we can all enjoy the knowledge please? 😊

My profound thanks,

Pete.

Hehe I agree Steven

Bought it from a friend who tells me it was once owned by Elliott Erwitt. True or not, it’s quite the lens.

Did I see in another post you own one as well?

This is a photo of a painting. It shows presumably the construction process of the new M11 in teamwork. Regardless of their hard work the estimated completion date is still not clear.
