Both are nice pictures, Gerbs, but of the two I prefer the scene shot at f/1.5 over the one shot at f/4.5 because it seems to me to have a lovely 'ethereal' quality to it.  It shows off the Summarex's character particularly well I think.  I also like the subtle vignette.

Pete.

I have been really enjoying this lens, and remember reading in a review of the lens that it is pretty much just a portrait lens, and the author couldn't imagine carrying it around as an everyday lens. It has been a HUGE amount of fun learning this lens, and what it's good for and what it's not. I love the ability to select the amount of "etheral" you want, or the kind of bokeh you want, I also like the quality when it is stopped down, for those times when you really want sharpness. I sometimes think of myself as carrying around an 85mm Noctilux... a whole 'nother capability of this lens. I am also really looking forward to trying it with portraits, LOL, although that's not a specialty of mine. There's a photo I posted in the M10 Monochrom Photo thread taken with this lens that I called "Sgraffito dew" that is one of my favorite photos yet that I've taken with a Leica, and it's with this lens.
