M9 c/w 28mm f/2.8 Elmarit v.1 - oddly enough this rather unusual lens does appear to perform better at closer focus than infinity although whether this is simply to do with a more three dimensional, closer subject which doesn't show the poor corner performance due to image field curvature I cannot say at the moment. At infinity corners are not good even at f/8-11.

Yes, it does not get any better with the M10 .

I hope you don’t mean this ironic because I didn’t mean to be picky or pedantic and certainly not to you personally (‘so often’?). And it is farnz’s thread so it’s ok with me what he finds old or modern. It’s just for the public here to state that it is highly unlikely that you can find such a sharp lens (well illustrated by your photo) under real old Leica lenses (for a few hundred bucks for instance).

Do think the Leica culture begs a degree of pedantic thinking. Don't you? Perhaps even why some of us like it. Let's bump elbows and move on my friend. Yes, it sharp! After shooting mostly Mandler lenses of late, it is strangely satisfying. LOL.

Regards.

P.S. Sarcastic not ironic. Confess to letting that character flaw escape now and then. Apologies.

Here are a few from my lil' guy 😉

Great travel lens, very sharp, may suffer a bit from purple fringing though.

My two kiddos joined me on an photo outing Sunday, however refusing to give me a serious pose, they lapsed into Dolce & Gabbana mode.  That said, the file came together with so little work- loving the M10!  This is natural light outside in a grove of bamboo at the Seattle Sculpture Garden.

all shot with M240 and EVF and stopped down as it looks like the Kilfitts have problems to reach focus on this infinite object. And lots of pp and please apologize the sensor-dirt 😉

My Summicrons 2.0-50mm either with M-mount or M39 look quite different.
But my good old M39-Elmar 3.5-50mm looks more similar to your shown lens.

Hi! This is the second collapsible I have, and both with similar rendering when trees are behind the subject with sun rays passing through the leaves. This is actually the main reason why I have it over any other Summicrons, because from the rigid onwards the rendering becomes much more modern. This was shot on one from 1956 LTM, which was CLA’ed in February.
I also have a Red scale elmar 50mm f3.5, which I actually shot on the same day under the same conditions but because the aperture doesn’t go to f2 the effect is much more limited than with the Summicron.

This is from my 1952 collapsible LTM. To my eyes, the oof rendering is similar to yours.

While there is some discussion about Nikon lenses. I have found a source of the elusive external bayonet Nikon S back lens caps.

Received some today and they do fit.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORSTER-UK-New-Contax-Kiev-Nikon-S-Outer-Bayonet-Mount-Rear-Lens-Cap/193419394113?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=493619956776&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

The same seller now has Contax/Nikon S camera body caps, even rarer than lens caps.
