1st test shot (apologies for the total lack of interesting content - I'll try and do better next time...) with an odd Zunow lens, originally designed for a Japanese rangefinder camera, the Neoca "SV Deluxe". This particular copy of the lens was converted to M not too long ago, presumably in HK, and is perfectly RF coupled.

M10 + 1959 Zunow 45/1.8 wide open, unprocessed (other than default LR conversion)

Nothin wrong with some testshots in the garde, it's a pitty that the Summicron-DR doesn't mount on digital bodies.

Walking to the gate in Beijing.  Perhaps the last pay phones in the world...

I liked the light, but lacked time to wait for better people positions.  😞

M10 with 1957 50mm Rigid Summicron @ F5.6.  No PP except to reduce size for upload.

Very pleasant bokeh at F/4, a little wild at F/2, colors are a little on the blue side, straight out of camera? I have to test on film.

Is this the best 35mm lens for Leica M you can buy for less than $400 US? I just got it and am amazed by resolving, bokeh, sharpness and color.

It is an amazing bargain - and it seems to be particularly good on the M9. Until I recently got a Summilux 35 pre-Asph - which of course is much more expensive - it was by far my favourite 35. You just have to be very careful of it flaring.

I have the Summilux pre-Asph as well (late V1 for M3) and I did a quick test: At F/2 and F/4 I can't see a difference. On the M9 the Summilux renders a little warmer and shadows seem a little deeper, so more contrasty?

I'm using a 40mm screw-in hood from the Fujifilm X10, which takes 52mm filters and it works really well ... AND I can use it on film with all my (Nikon) 52 mm filters - I hear anything but a 40mm UV filter is almost impossible to come by.

I have a version of that hood too - it's not pretty, but it does the job. Until now I haven't ever really used filters, but now that I've just acquired a Mk1 Monochrom that's starting to change; good to know that it takes 52mm filters - thanks.
